API Keys
You can generate API keys within our platform, which allow for programmatic access to Cloudchipr. With the API, you can submit resource filters to the Cloudchipr API and receive a list of resources that match the specified filter.
Generating and Managing API Keys:
- Key Creation Limits: Currently, you are allowed to create up to two API keys per account.
- Expiration Period: API keys can be set with an expiration date to enhance security. The minimum lifespan for a key is 1 day, and the maximum is 365 days.
- Access Scope: API keys provide read-only access to the Cloudchipr API and your cloud resources.
Best Practices
- Regular Rotation: Regularly updating and rotating your API keys is a best practice that can significantly enhance your security posture. Consider setting an expiration date that aligns with your security policies.
- Secure Storage: Keep your API keys confidential and store them securely to prevent unauthorized access. Treat your API keys as sensitive as Read access to cloud accounts and resources.
